I hate how people try to act like Madonna wasn’t a big part of the 80s, due to the fact they dislike her just for the sake of disliking her, or for her actions as of late. It’s almost like it’s the “cool” thing to hate on her.

But seriously, her 80s catalogue is some of the most recognizable music worldwide. Within in the very first seconds Holiday, Like a Virgin, Like a Prayer, Borderline, etc., YOU INSTANTLY KNOW IT’S HER.

Obviously(if my icon didn’t make it obvious enough), Madonna is not only one my favorite 80s artist, but one of my favorite artists overall. And honestly, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s virtually eradicated his music from the Internet, I’d probably be posting a hell lot of Prince too.

I get it, this is an 80s Tumblr, not a Madonna Tumblr. But honestly, I don’t care to make a Madonna tumblr, and there are only so many “salvageable” 80s music videos that are worth posting(a lot of the videos people request only exist in 240p, unfortunately). And for those that don’t understand how the .gif-making process works, it involves LOTS of replaying the same 5 seconds of a song over and over again, or looking for that “perfect” scene, and when you don’t know the song or video too well, it’s a little stressful.

Besides, eventually I want to expand from 80s to 90s, not only to reach a wider audience, but to add even more variety to the blog.

If any of have any name suggestions, send me some. 80and90smusicvideos is too wordy, so I want something quick and clever. Maybe MusicTumblr-Vision if its not already taken.

(also, the person who made that post about too much Madonna was this guy I was talking to at the time. we no longer talk because he’s total scumbag who led me on, so to put it lightly, I don’t give two shits about what he wants more or less of)
